August 6th marked Liqiu—the Beginning of Autumn according to the traditional Chinese calendar.

Since then, the days have been getting a bit cooler, and it's no longer as unbearably hot.

Yesterday, while strolling through social media, I noticed a trend: everyone was sharing funny pictures about “The First Cup of Milk Tea in Autumn.”

I’m not sure when this became a thing, but it’s definitely caught on!

Young people are crazy about it and make sure to have their milk tea on the day of Liqiu.

Given the tough job market these past few years, consumers shift to more affordable options and reduce spending on non-essential or luxury items due to economic conditions or financial constraints. but not on the little joys—like milk tea!

A cup of milk tea is around 20 RMB, which is affordable and a small treat that people still indulge in.

Milk tea has even become a must-have for small talk. ️ Whether you're shopping, meeting friends, or dining out, milk tea is always part of the experience.

So, did you have your first cup of milk tea this autumn? How much did it cost? I haven’t had mine yet!
